Items

Once per epoch, at a random time, one creature somewhere in a habitat finds something in the grass. Only one item turns up per epoch across the whole game, so every find is an event.

Items are real Cardano tokens. They sit in your wallet like anything else, and using one burns it. The item policy on mainnet is 6e93b13f5caeda96484c993222cbc1495bd06be828118de157c48145. Creatures use a different policy.

Finding an item

It happens once per epoch, at a random time, when the habitats are busy. One creature out of everyone standing in any active habitat is picked. If the habitats are quiet, nothing turns up that epoch.

Personality leans who finds it, the opposite way to rumbles: the creatures least likely to win a fight are the most likely to notice something shiny. Any creature in a habitat can still be the one.

The more creatures you have out in habitats, the better your odds. Eggs can't visit, so they can't find anything.

Taking it home

On your next page load, while logged in, a message pops up: your creature found an item, which habitat it was in, and what the item does. It stays until you choose.

  • Take it mints the item to the wallet you're connected with. You sign one transaction: a network fee of about 0.2 ₳, plus about 1.2 ₳ that travels with the item and stays in your own wallet.
  • Leave it asks you to confirm first. Once you leave an item, it's gone: it won't be offered again, and nobody else gets it that epoch.

If you close the wallet prompt without signing, nothing is lost. The message comes back on your next visit.

Using an item

Open your satchel from the top of the page. It shows every item across all of your linked wallets.

Pick an item to see its art, what it does, and where it is:

  • In this wallet: ready to use.
  • In another linked wallet: connect that wallet to use it. Using an item burns the token, and only the wallet holding it can sign that.

Press Use, pick the creature (account items skip this step), check the before-and-after, and sign. Using an item costs a small network fee, and the ADA that was travelling with the token comes back to your wallet.

The rules

  • Use as many as you like. There's no limit per creature or per epoch.
  • Order doesn't matter. Using an item before feeding or after feeding ends in the same place. A Star Candy used before you max out the epoch's two levels gives the same result as one used after.
  • Moonlit Dew doesn't stack. A creature can have one Dew per epoch. A second one isn't used up; it stays in your wallet.
  • Picnic Blankets line up. Each one covers one stay.
  • Level 99 is the top. Levels that wouldn't fit are cut off, and the game tells you before you sign. Eggs top out at 5, their hatch level.
  • Items can't make a creature older. The age half of the trading rule still takes six epochs, whatever you use.
  • Roosting and stranded creatures can't take growth items, for the same reason they can't be fed.
  • An item that would do nothing is refused, so it stays in your wallet. A Star Candy on a level 99 creature, for example.

Trading items

Items are fungible: every Star Candy is the same token. You can send, trade or sell them like any other Cardano token, and whoever holds one can use it. Unlike young creatures, there's no trading restriction and nothing gets stranded.
